Dolphin Watching in the Algarve

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

If you’re traveling to the Algarve this summer you might enjoy a trip to see dolphins swimming in the wild. Algarve Dolphins offer 90 minute dolphin watching trips operating out of Marina de Lagos.

Simon, a happy customer says:

“The picuresque seaside town of Luz, flanked by the highest cliffs in the Algarve (over 100 metres high), distracted the attention of the passengers but I noticed that Irma’s keen eye hadn’t left the water. suddenly she raised her arm- the signal for the skipper to slow right down and stop the engines. Everybody fell silent, even the ecstatic children- could we be in the presence of our quarry? Expectant glances were exchanged and, with a great whoosh, the sea surface broke- a real live dolphin! Then two, then three- the sea around us quickly became alive.”

Do you know Skopelos?

Skopelos

I’ll be honest, before I worked here I’d never even heard of it, but since then I’ve spent many an hour drooling over our villas in Skopelos - wishing I was holed up in one of our hill-top retreats on this amazing Greek island.

But Skopelos is poised to get a lot more popular. Just as Captain Corelli’s Mandolin made Kefalonia a huge draw with holidayers, The film version of Mamma Mia is soon to be released. Filmed almost entirely in Skopelos, it is already getting rave reviews, for amongst other things, its’ scenery. You can read more of what Skopelos has to offer here.
